In a historical fact, the Catalan Parliament approved a ban on bullfighting. 68 votes for, 55 against and 9 abstentions, has accepted the People's Legislative Initiative calling for ban bullfighting in the community.
The initiative, promoted by the Platform PROU (Basta!) had its epilogue successful after nearly two years of waiting and force measurement where the inevitable arguments nonsensical bull lovers and of course influences monetary policy and tried by every means to stop the popular feeling of rejection of animal exploitation.
Today July 28, 2010 is a historic day for the animal world, which shows that if our work pays off, with effort, dedication and responsibility, in a struggle that is the day to day.
From now on, we hope the discussion of the Constitutional Court on bullfighting and cockfighting, which has been postponed to the next regular meeting (week of 2 to 6 August), it seems that for the 4th of August.
Whatever the decision to the Court, we know all are steps and that our struggle can never stop until the animal liberation is a fact, until the world realizes that nonhuman animals are not commodities, they are our property and are not to our service.
